Here's a long drink for everyone else who's watching the Super Bowl without a team in the game.
2 oz bourbon (Cabin Still)
1/2 oz Campari
1/2 oz cranberry grenadine (regular grenadine would be okay too)
1/2 oz grapefruit juice
1/2 oz lemon juice
Shake and strain over ice in a tall glass and top with soda.

Gin & Juice, Fancy Style
Are you familiar with the Minnesota State Fair? I went along today at the family's behest, and it was only a flask of Few Standard Issue Gin that kept me alive through the experience. Turns out that it serves as a wonderful spike for all manner of mixers. Here is a drink that I made afterward to carry forward the trend.
1 1/2 oz navy strength gin (most brands should work in this)
1/2 oz pomegranate-blueberry syrup
1/2 oz lemon juice
Shake and strain over fresh ice. Top with 2-3 oz carbonated cucumber water to taste. Stir and spritz a quick blast of absinthe over the top using an atomizer.

Jaqueline Rose
Here's a nice, light rendition of the excellent Jack Rose cocktail:
3/4 oz applejack (I like Laird's Straight Apple Brandy)
3/4 oz rye whiskey
3/4 oz dry vermouth
3/4 oz real pomegranate grenadine
3/4 oz lime juice
Shake and strain into a small cocktail glass. Garnish with a lemon twist if you're like that.
Just some simple experimentation, but I like the result in this case.
